The Conscious Sedation
Solution.

Fear is not uncommon:
Fear is the reason that thirty percent of the population does not seek dental care. People fear the dentist for many reasons. Perhaps they had a bad experience as a child, or they had difficulty getting numb, or they hate the shots and needles as well as the noise, smells, and tastes associated with old type dental care. We understand that if you are one of these fearful patients, you are desperately seeking a safe, comfortable, and effective alternative to conventional dentistry.
Conflicts with work:
In addition to the fearful patient, Conscious Sedation can be a great alternative if you have several hours of dental work to be accomplished, but have a hard time getting multiple days off work because of their very busy schedules. In many instances three or more appointments may be able to be combined into one longer appointment, letting you take off only one day of work. In other cases where patients are having cosmetic treatments, they may opt to have Conscious Sedation because the visits can be quite long. Imagine "waking up" to a brand new, beautiful smile.

We offer both Conscious Oral Sedation and
Conscious IV Sedation in our safe office environment.

Conscious Oral Sedation: does NOT involve any IV type needles or injections. With Conscious Oral Sedation the Doctor may prescribe some medications to be taken before the procedure and additional medication may be given throughout the procedure as needed.

Conscious IV Sedation: performed by Dr. Dawson and our highly qualified and professionally trained staff.

With either type of Conscious Sedation, you will be sedated just enough to be relaxed and unaware of the treatment, as if you were almost sleeping. You will "wake up" refreshed, with little to no memory of what was accomplished.

Our experience and qualifications:
Dr. Dawson received his training through the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedations (DOCS) and the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) with over 300 hours of sedation training (80 hours hospital-based training). With his Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, and additional Emergency Medical training; he and the professionally trained staff are prepared to maintain a great level of safety for our patients. All patients receive a complete medical history review and are monitored during treatment to ensure their comfort and safety.
